Is God’s Way Easter Or Passover?

Is God’s Way Easter Or Passover?

By Christine Egbert

One of God’s most often repeated pleas is, “Oh that My peoplethat Israel would listen to Me would walk in My ways!” (Psalms 81:14)

As it says in Isaiah 55:8-9, God’s thoughts are not our thoughts, nor are His ways our ways. As heaven is higher than earth, so are His ways higher than ours.

The good news is God has predestined us to be conformed to the image of His Son, Yeshua, and not (as it says in Romans 12:2) to the image of “this age”.

We’re to be transformed by renewing our mind. We’re to take captive everything that exalts itself over the knowledge of God, to bring every thought to the obedience of Messiah. We are to be sanctified, cleansed, by washing, immersing ourselves in the water of His WORD. (Eph 5:26

God charged Joshua saying, “Thus says Adonai-Tzva’ot, “If you will walk in My ways and keep My charge, then you will judge My House and watch over My courts, and I will give you a place to walk among those standing here.” (Zechariah 3:7)

In 1st Kings 3:14, God warned Solomon saying, “If you walk in My ways, keeping My statutes and My commandments, as your father David walked, then I will lengthen your days.”

Obey My voice,” God told Israel, “and I will be your God and you will be My people. Walk in all the ways I command you that it may go well with you.” (Jerimiah 7:23)

Yes, But…!

“That was said to Israel,” many Christians will protest, “not to us. We’re Gentile Christians!”

The Problem Is This…

The term Gentile Christian is an oxymoron! If you’re truly still a Gentile, you’re not in covenant with Israel’s God! The God of Israel NEVER made a Covenant with Gentiles. He made all of His Covenants with ISRAEL. But if you’re a Gentile who has put your faith in Israel’s Messiah, I have very good news for you. You’re in Messiah, Yeshua, and you’re no longer a Gentile!

In Messiah, you’ve become part of Israel’s Commonwealth! Now you share in all of Israel’s Covenants! (Ephesians 2 :11-12). But as Israel, you are called to walk in all of God’s ways!

How Do We Walk In God’s Ways?

1st Ki 11:38 tells us: “…obey all I command you, walk in My ways, do what is right in My eyes to keep My statutes and My commands…”

Genesis 26:5 says Abraham listened to God’s voice. He heeded God’s charge, His commands, His statutes, and His TORAH…”

Psalms 119, the longest chapter in Scripture, regales the blessings of walking in God’s ways, through keeping His Commands, Statutes, and Torah.

Here are just a few:

Psalms 119:92 Had Your TORAH not been my delight, I would have perished in my affliction. I will never forget Your Precepts, for with them You gave me life.

Psalms 119:111 I have inherited Your Testimonies forever; for they are the joy of my heart.

Psalms 119:112  I have bowed my heart to do Your Statutes always to the end.

Psalms 119:135  Make Your face shine on Your servant, and teach me Your Statutes.

Psalms 119:142  Your righteousness is forever, and Your TORAH is truth!

Psalms 119:143  Your Commands are my delight.

Psalms 119:152  From old I have known Your Testimonies, for You have founded them forever!

Psalms 119:144  The righteousness of Your Testimonies is everlasting.

What Are God’s Testimonies?

It’s the Hebrew word “eduth”, Strong’s H5707. It means witness. It’s the same word translated in “Exo 25:22, which says, “And I will meet you there, and will speak with you, above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubs which are on the ark of testimony, all which I shall command you concerning the sons of Israel.”

God’s TESTIMONIES are EVERLASTING! They’re eternal! That’s why, when God instructed Noah to bring two of each unclean animals, a male and a female, aboard the ark but of the clean 7 males and 7 females, Noah understood the difference. It’s why Abraham was able to keep God’s Commands, Statutes, and TORAH long before Moses ever stood on Mount Sinai. And it’s why Yeshua declared that heaven and earth would pass away before a jot or tittle passed from the Torah. It’s because God’s testimonies are everlasting. They’re forever!

The Problem Is…

Mal 2:8-9 You have turned from the way. You caused many to stumble in Torah by your instruction, You corrupted the covenant of the Levites,”—says Adonai-Tzva’ot. So I also have made you despised and lowly to all the people, because you are not keeping My ways”

Oh,” God says in Psalms 81:13, “if My people had listened to me! If Israel had walked in MY Ways…”

YHVH said, “Stand in the roads and look. Ask for the ancient paths—where the good way is—and walk in it. Then you will find rest for your souls. But Israel said, ‘We won’t walk in it!” (Jer 6:16)

Since the 4th century, when Constantine declared, “Let us then have nothing in common with the detestable Jewish crowd,” meaning they would not keep God’s Feast Days, God’s people have also said, “We won’t!” They refuse to walk in God’s ways. They refuse to keep His biblical Feast Days. They claim all the Feast Days Lord YHVH calls His (Lev 23:2) are only for Jews. Since the reign of Constantine Christians have been first ordered by the fore of Roman law, then later taught to celebrate Easter. But what does God say?

1st Kings 11: “‘They have abandoned Me and have worshipped Ashtoreth the goddess of the Sidonians, Chemosh the god of Moab, and Milcom the god of the children of Ammon. They have not walked in My ways, nor done what is right in My eyes, nor kept My statutes and My ordinances…”

WHO IS ASHTORETH? says that Ashtoreth is the plural form of Astarte, the supreme goddess of Canaan and female counterpart of Baal. Her name is derived from Babylon’s Ishtar. In English Ishtar is pronounced Easter. She represented the evening and morning stars. She was androgynous in origin, but under Semitic influence, she became solely female, and stood alone among the Assyro-Bab goddesses, on an equal footing with all the male divinities. In Canaan, Ishtar dropped her warlike attributes and became a moon-goddess and the consort of Baal. Ishtar, known as the “daughter of Sin” remained identified with the evening-star, and the immoral rites in which Ishtar was worshiped in Babylonia got transferred to Canaan. These rites formed the idolatrous practices that God commanded Israel to STOP DOING.

In Closing

As Passover approaches, you who still celebrate Easter, have a choice to make. I implore you, renounce all pagan practices, even those adopted as Church doctrine during the 4th Century! Seek God’s eternal ancient paths! WALK in God’s ways! As Paul wrote in 1st Corinthians 5:7-8, “For Messiah, our Passover was sacrificed for us. Let us keep the Feast, not with old leaven, nor with leaven of malice and evil, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.” For our Messiah, Yeshua, is risen! He’s become the First Fruit of our resurrection.
