Prayer For Israel / A Call To Arms

A Call To Arms

by Christine Egbert

A few years back my pastor, Matthew Miller, asked me to lead a weekly prayer for Israel, and I accepted. But since most of our congregation works during the day–unlike myself who am retired–I have prayed weekly with, at the most, one or two others, but more often alone. So along with the prayer I wrote so that I could remember to cover everything, I added a Messianic version of Israel’s standing prayer, the Amidah, which is recited by religious Jews three times a day. To that, in order to fill up the time, I added a whole page of biblical affirmations. It began with the Shemah and a pledge to keep the Sabbath, then went on to affirm various passages taken mostly from the apostolic writings (NT). And it ended with a declaration that I’d overcome by the blood of the lamb and the word of my testimony, and that I would not love my own life unto death. Then I would be ready to engage in spiritual warfare for Israel, usually, but not always, alone. But this morning, after posting the video about Israel’s successful strike against Syria, I felt it was time to call in the troops. We need more warriors, for as Leviticus 26:8 says, “…five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight.” So please join me, not only on Wednesdays, but daily, wherever you are. Print out this prayer. Send it to all your likeminded friends. Ask them to pray it out aloud.

Oh Merciful and Most High God, as repentant children from the scattered tribes, we have entered your throne room through the precious blood of Yeshua. Called to be watchmen on the walls of Jerusalem, we are here to give You no rest until You make that cup of trembling and burdensome stone, Jerusalem, a praise in all the earth. We are here to stand in the gap for our brothers in the House of Judah, against whom the Kings of the earth are once more plotting annihilation, and for Your LAND—ha eretz Israel–which YOU gave to our fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and which YOU said was NOT to be divided.

For the Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, we ask that you grant him a circumcised heart devoted only to YOU, as well as the strength and boldness of King David. We pray that you continually anoint him in his leadership role with wisdom, discernment, courage, and compassion, and that you surround him with people of integrity, who will resist pressure to enter into any treaty that will further divide YOUR LAND. Please keep the Prime Minister and his family safe in the perilous days about to unfold.

For Israel’s allies, especially the United States, we pray that we remain steadfast in our support, remembering always that those who bless Israel will be blessed and that those who curse Israel will be cursed. We pray for the safety and prosperity of all ministries in Israel that are preaching the true Gospel of the Kingdom.

For the media, we pray that their hypocrisy and lies about Israel be exposed, that those who have been brainwashed against Israel and the God of the Holy Scriptures have their eyes opened, and that they repent, especially those in the Christian Church. We pray that the left’s agenda to have business boycott Israel fail miserably. We pray for Israel’s safety and continued prosperity.

We pray for protection for all of Israel’s business and residential districts, for all forms of transportation, for all medical facilities, for all educational facilities, and all places of true worship. We pray for protection for Israel’s archaeological, historic, and tourist sites, especially YOUR Temple Mount. We ask for YOUR protection on Israel’s IDF. May those men and women have their eyes opened so that they recognize that they’re fighting for much more than the secular State of Israel; they are fighting for the Promised Land itself and the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

We pray for all the Ultra Orthodox, the Orthodox, the Conservative, and Reform Jews, and for those Jews who are atheist or have aligned themselves with a cult, that YOU open their eyes, remove the veil so that they can see their Messiah, Yeshua. So that they will recognize that Yeshua is the very One that they have been praying would come, every time they say the Amidah, that He came once, two thousand years ago, and will soon return and deliver them.

We also pray for those Muslims searching for TRUTH, but who are trapped in ISLAM. May they find TRUTH in YHVH, the God of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob, and in HIS ONLY begotten Son, our Messiah Yeshua, who is the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE.

And last, but not least, Father, move YOUR HAND mightily to once and for all remove every restriction on Messianic Jews for making Aliyah. May all who name Yeshua as their Messiah have their eyes opened to their true identity, to recognize that they’ve been grafted into Israel’s cultivated Olive Tree and have become part of Israel’s Commonwealth. May soon, and in our day, the whole HOUSE OF ISRAEL, the House of Judah and the House of Israel, with all 12 of our tribes, return to worship and serve our Messiah, YESHUA, in the Land YOU Promised to our Fathers. AVINU, we beseech YOU, end our exile!
