Preach The Word

by Christine Egbert

Scripture declares that prophets “spoke from God as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.” Prophecy is a message inspired by God. With that in mind, I have written this article, which I have titled “Preach The Word!” using only Scripture pulled from various biblical texts.

For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourself. It is the gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus (Messiah Yeshua) unto good works which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. But do you know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness. You see then that by works a man is justified and not by faith only. Demons also believe and tremble. Do not be like those who profess they know God but in works deny him, being abominable and disobedient and reprobate unto every good work. For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is also dead. Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. For whatsoever is not of faith is sin. For sin is the transgression of the law.

Is the law sin? God forbid! For we know that the Law is spiritual, but I am fleshly, sold under sin. I delight in the Law of God according to the inward man. For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified! For the mind of the flesh is enmity towards God. It is not subjected to the Law of God. And those in the flesh are not able to please God.

So, then, brothers, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to flesh. For if you live according to flesh you will die. But, if by the Spirit, you put to death the practices of the body, you will live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. The one who says I have known Him and does not keep His commands is a liar. The truth is not in him. But whoever keeps His Word, truly in this one the love of God has been perfected. And by this we know we are in Him. The one claiming to rest in Him ought to walk as He walked. And if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Having purposed, He brought us forth by the Word of truth—your Law is truth—to be a certain first-fruit of His creatures. So, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath. For the wrath of man does not work out the righteousness of God. Put away all filthiness and overflow of evil! In meekness receive the implanted Word—the Word that was made Flesh and dwelt among us—the Word that is able to save your souls. But be doers of the Word, and not hearers only.

Jesus (Yeshua) said, “Enter in at the strait gate, for wide is the gate and broad the way that leads to destruction. Many there be which go in there. But strait is the gate and narrow the way that leads to life. Few there are who find it. If you love Me, keep My commandments. If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love; even as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love. Whosoever, therefore, shall break the least of these commandments and shall teach men to do so, he shall be called least in the kingdom of Heaven. But whosoever does and teaches others the same shall be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven.”

A day is coming when I will bring you into the wilderness of the people and plead with you face to face. On that day, l will make you pass under the rod to bring you into the bond of the covenant.

On that day, I will purge out from among you rebels, those who transgress against Me. I will bring them out of the country where they sojourned, but they will not enter into the land of Israel. In that day, many shall say, “Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name? And in Your name cast out devils? And in Your name done many wonderful works?” But I will tell them, “I never knew you. Depart from Me, you who work lawlessness!” For I have written the great things of My law, but you counted them as a strange thing! My commandments are not grievous!

Paul warned Timothy the time would come when many would not endure sound doctrine. Having itching ears, after their own lusts, they will heap to themselves teachers, and turn their ears away from My truth. My righteousness is everlasting. And My law is truth. My commandments are a lamp. My instructions are the way of life. You shall therefore keep My statutes and My judgments. Every word of Mine is pure. Add not to My words, lest I reprove you, and you are found to be a liar. As it was in the days when Israel had no king, and every man did that which was right in his own eyes, you worship Me in vain, teaching as doctrine the commandments of men.

The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but obedience is better than sacrifice.

Here is the patience of the saints. Here are those who keep My commandments and are faithful to Me, Jesus (Yeshua). Blessed are the ones who do My commandments; they will have the right to the Tree of Life and enter in through the gates of the city. But those who eat swine’s flesh, the abomination, and the mouse, shall be consumed together!

For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before Me, so shall your seed and your name remain. And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one Sabbath to another, all flesh shall come to worship before Me. Many people shall go and say, “Come! Let us go up to the mountain of the LORD (Yahweh), to the house of the God of Jacob. He will teach us of His ways, and we will walk in His paths. For out of Zion shall go forth the Torah and the word of the LORD (Yahweh) from Jerusalem.

Therefore, remember that you in times past were Gentiles. At that time, you were without the Messiah, you were aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, strangers from the covenants of promise. You had no hope and were without God in the world. You were cut out of an olive tree that is wild by nature, but you were grafted in, contrary to nature, into My cultivated olive tree. How much more shall the natural branches be grafted into their own olive tree? As concerns the election, the Jewish people are beloved for their Fathers’ sake, but make no mistake, the gifts and the call of God are without repentance.

My Word came to Ezekiel saying, “Take thee one stick and write upon it, “For Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions.” Then take another stick and write upon it: “For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and all the House of Israel, his companions.” And I will make them one stick, one nation in the land upon the mountains of Israel, and one king shall be king over them. They shall be no more two nations; neither shall they be divided anymore into two kingdoms. Behold, I will take the children of Israel from among the heathen, where they have gone, and I will gather them from every side and bring them into their own land. And so, all Israel shall be saved.

Do not be ignorant of this mystery, lest you become wise in your own conceit. Blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. Then Gentiles will be fellow heirs of the same body and partakers of the Promise. Therefore, you Gentiles are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and of the household of God.

And this is the covenant that I will make with the House of Israel and the House of Judah: I will put my law in their inward parts and write it in their hearts. I will be their God, and they shall be My people. My Word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you may do it. Receive with meekness the engrafted Word which is able to save your souls. But be doers of the word and not hearers only. There is One Lawgiver who is able to save and destroy. The LORD (Yahweh) is our judge. The LORD (Yahweh) is our king. The LORD (Yahweh) is our Lawgiver.

There is One mediator between God and man, Christ Jesus (Messiah Yeshua). If you have seen Me, you have seen the Father. My Father and I are One. I am in My Father, and My Father is in Me. The words that I speak, I speak not of Myself but My Father Who dwells in Me. If you love Me, keep My commandments. I have come to do My Father’s will. Go therefore and teach all nations to observe all that I have commanded you.

For in six days, I made the heavens and the earth, the seas and all that is in them. And I rested the seventh day. Therefore, I blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it. In six days you shall do your work, but on the seventh day you are to rest.

You are to be circumspect in all that I have told you. Do not mention the names of other gods (like Ishtar/Easter). Let them not be heard out of your mouth.

Three times every year you will keep a Feast unto Me. These are My Feasts. You shall keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread, and the Feast of Harvest (the first fruits of your labors), and the Feast of Ingathering, which is at the end of the year.

If you turn your foot away from doing your own pleasure on My holy day and call My Sabbaths a delight, and not do your own ways, nor find your own pleasure, nor speak your own words, then I will cause you to ride upon the high places of the earth and feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father. I have set before you, life and death, blessing and cursing. Choose life. Love Me and walk in My ways. Keep My commandments!
